A Mission

Of Purpose

Providing leadership in the development and successful implementation of quality training services that support and empower individuals who are committed to the process of economic self-sufficiency.

Essential to a successful strategy is effective partnership development—leveraging and sharing resources.  WYSR works with numerous local and federal agencies and programs including Public and Indian Housing, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Neighborhood Networks, housing market experts, local workforce development and welfare-to-work programs, universities and community colleges, bankers, realtors, State agencies and other municipalities, and other organizations.

WYSR (‘wiser’) Academy develops service strategies for capacity building  and self-sufficiency development in low-income communities.  Our approach is based on  effective needs assessments not only for individuals and families, but for the communities and environments in which they live.

Based on specific needs, WYSR customizes a service model (WYSR Service Delivery Model [WSDM—”wisdom”]) that coordinates and provides training services that integrate life enrichment and technical skills with individual service strategies and supportive services.
